I'm a new driver, I turned 18 on 5 April 2014 and got my license a few days after. I'm trying to buy a used car so that I can go to college and work and move out of my house and ito an apartment with a friend, but when I look online for insurance quotes, companies like Geico and Progressive want me to pay $13,000 a year for insurance, more than twice what I'm paying for a used car! What am I doing wrong, or what are some cheaper companies I can go with to afford the insurance I need for the car I can't live without?

I am 20 years old. I live in Florida which is by far the WORST states to have auto insurance. I've only been in 2 accidents, both not my fault. One was a small fender bender (which my friend decided to get a PIP claim even though he didnt get hurt so he could snag some money from the government).
